Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) Course
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) program provides a systematic, prioritized approach to the care of trauma patients. The course emphasizes rapid assessment, early intervention, and stabilization—focusing on treating the greatest threat to life first.
Participants will learn to assess patient condition, initiate resuscitation, stabilize injuries, and determine when transfer to a higher level of care is required.
Course Objectives
- Apply the principles of primary and secondary assessments
- Establish management priorities in trauma situations
- Initiate timely management of life-threatening conditions
Course Format
ATLS Hybrid Courses are available for both initial certification and renewal.
Course Completion Requirements
All online modules must be completed prior to the course date. Participants who do not complete the pre-course work will not be permitted to attend.
- Complete all required online modules
- Attend and participate in the entire course
- Achieve a score of 75% or higher on the post-course exam
Accreditation
The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
